Good Morning! ‘yawn’ It’s another gloomy day, weather-wise. The sun keeps trying to shine through but there are big, ugly, gray clouds in the way. It was like that yesterday too. Did you vote? I can’t vote but Ray got home in time to go exercise his right as a citizen. I was proud of him. When we returned home from the school (where he voted) it was dark. We turned on the TV to find there was a tornado warning in Orlando. Fortunately, it didn’t end up effecting us as the storm moved out ot the ocean. It was still strange to see the warning scrolling across our TV screen in November. Snow storms, blizzards…yeah, sure but a tornado warning…Oh, wait! This is Florida. Still getting used to some things but suprisingly I’ve adapted to many things as well. I’m not looking forward to going from here to the crisp New York winter, though. My body does not warm itself very well and I’ve grown cold just from the air conditioner. So, not sure how much of a shock the cold will be. Although, I better pick up a winter coat.
I am still busy with Christmas stuff. Hoping to get it all done in time. I’ve got Christmas on the brain, so I totally forgot that the American Thanksgiving is coming up. Thanksgiving has come and gone already in my head, so it’s weird to see the ads for Thanksgiving foods and such. I guess we’ll be going to my mother-in-law’s place this year. Not sure how Christmas is going to play out though, because not only are Ray and I going away but so are Dan and Erika (sister-in-law and her boyfriend). Ray and I are going to do our gift exchange before we leave, because there is no sense dragging more on a plane than you need. Why risk it? I’m sure it will all be straightened out. Just don’t want the time to get away from me, because I have a lot of stuff we still need to shop for and stuff I need to make and mail. I’m excited I have an excuse to listen to Christmas music though!
I used to be so on top of things…this time of year always makes me feel unorganized! I think I’m going to actually make some sugar cookies this year. (I don’t like the taste of gingerbread.) Mom got me some wonderful gingerbread cookie cutters last year, in three different sizes so I can finally use them! (Oooh, the sun is finally coming out!) I’m trying to get excited about the whole trip and time of year. I have my worries and paranoias but I am trying to let all that go and just get into it. Pray I do, because being panicky on a plane is not fun. Well, if you need any ideas for Christmas gifts that are from the heart and relatively cheap, let me know! I love making gifts.
