Ray got off work quite early yesterday, so I had the entire afternoon to spend with him. It was wonderful to have lunch with him and just enjoy his company. Today, we didn’t have anything special planned but he decided to make the day special anyway. We went to the mall around noon and had some Sbarro pizza. Then we killed time walking through various stores before our movie started. Ray is excited about the new Nintendo console coming out, so we stopped by the game shop. Then we visited the pet store. First puppy I saw was a pug!!! It was sooo adorable! All of the puppies were, but Ray didn’t cave to my pleas. Ray then looked at the snakes and other creatures I would never consider pets while I looked at the bunnies. One of the bunnies reminded Ray of Sasha (family dog, but she lives with my family back in NY…’sniff’). It has one ear up and one ear down. Sasha’s ears are like that the majority of the time. We stopped by Mattress Barn to look at some of the bedroom sets. Ray knew all about each of them, since he sets them up on a regular basis. I like getting new insight into what he does all day. I got a new respect for how hard he works. The dollar store was our last stop and we ended up buying some cool stuff there. Ray and I found a bunch of Best Buy shirts that were "defective". So, he picked up three different shirts for $3. He was excited
. We got some other things as well, like a 50 cent watch. It was time to head for the theatre at this point, so we crossed the mall and found seats. We saw The Santa Claus 3. It was actually pretty funny. It was cold in the theatre so I draped one of the shirts Ray bought over myself. There wasn’t much to do at the mall after the movie ended so we headed to the Dollar Tree. We had to pick up stuff for our shoebox (Operation Christmas Child). It was fun to shop with Ray. He helped pick out some nice things for the shoebox, that we pray will bring a smile to a child’s face this Christmas season. Home was our destination after all this. Ray made us dinner and we played a game of Stratego. He kicked my butt but I held out longer than I expected to. I love spending time with him. Anyway, that was my Saturday. Oh, and we’re planning on going to New York for Christmas. We got plane tickets already, so hoping all will work out. I HATE flying but I have to trust God will work it out ’cause I really want to see my family. It would also put us in the position to go to Canada with them if that works out. Praying it does!
