Broken Air Conditioners & Witchcraft

I am so happy it’s Friday! This week went really slooooow. Not that it didn’t have its moments, but those were usually in the evening. Let’s see…Somewhere earlier in the week our air conditioner gave up on cooling us down. When Ray came home he checked outside to see if it was doing anything out of the ordinary. He returned to tell me it was making some pretty bad noises. It was blowing out hot air, so we just shut it off. That evening we watched the temperature of the house rise to 89 degrees (F). It was uncomfortable in here, so we turned off all the lights and watched The Three Musketeers. Good movie. Cracking open a window did not do much to aleviate the warmth, but it did bring the temperature down to 80 over night. Fortunately, the maintenance crew got our message and came by early the next day to fix it! Having your air conditioner break in Florida, when the temperatures have been hitting the 80’s lately, is not fun. Plus, we are concerned that if it’s been breaking down that that is why our power bill is so high. We shall see…I still just want to move.

A new Gilmore Girls finally came on on Tuesday! Wednesday I watched my favourite contestant (Mandisa) get voted off of American Idol. Thursday we watched the Smallville from last week, but after Ray saw the preview for this week’s he told me he didn’t want me to see it. So, we made a quick trip to the library to grab some movies. Sadly, Ray couldn’t find what he was looking for so we left with two movies I am interested in, but nothing for him.

We’re reading C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters  at bedtime. It’s very interesting. Ray reads it aloud to me and I ask him questions. It’s a good match. We then do devotions together. I’m so glad I have someone like him. I think I take the fact that he does stuff like that for granted sometimes. It’s a good book so far, if you ever get the chance to read it. It really gives you some insight into how Satan’s demons must plot against you. If you don’t believe they are able to interact with your life, then you’re leaving yourself open for attack. Don’t be scared about it. If you want any personal accounts of what a spiritual attack is like, just ask me. (or even better read themindisabattlefield.blogspot.com) My latest story was all about how Satan weasles his way into our minds and warps our view. Be very careful in dealing with the demons, even if you are not a Christian. "When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead." (Deuteronomy 18:9-11) Why would God take the time to warn against something that is not real? Keep your guard up and hold onto the One who will see you through the dark times.
