Poor Raymond is still sick. I just wish I could make it all go away. Last night in desperation I called my parents to see if they had any more advice on easing his symptoms. He sounded like he was literally coughing out a lung! They urged us to call his mom and see if there were any 24 hour clinics. She also advised us to take him in to get checked out. Ray was concerned because he was having difficulty breathing, so we just decided to get dressed and go to the emergency room at the hospital. Without health care, it is hard to know what is best. Anyway, it was about 11:30pm when we arrived. He was in right away to get his blood pressure taken and such, but then it was waiting. After sitting through a good portion of the creepy What Lies Beneath and some of the dark movie Malice, Ray decided to just leave. It felt like such a long time, and those movies brought about an unwelcome ambiance. I just sat there, watching ambulances pull in and people upset about loved ones. We got home around 2am. I had Ray take the medicine we had bought and we just jumped into bed. We were both extremely tired.
Needless to say, we did not make it to church this morning. It is a shame, because they were having a wonderful picnic to celebrate the birthdays and anniversaries in March. We had made potato salad to take and everything. I was disappointed but after being up so late the fact that I am fighting this cold came back to me. Fortunately, Ray’s mom went out and got us lots of fluids and chicken soup, as well as some other things. We are very grateful for this.
Easter break is just around the corner. It is my favourite holiday! I am so happy it is now Spring. Winter was getting dull. ‘yawn’ I am so very tired. I suppose that is my week-end in a snapshot. We got some movies from the library. I didn’t like A Cinderella Story as much as I’d hoped I would, but the movie Ray picked out with me in mind turned out to be pretty good. He chose North. I was a bit skeptical because it had Elijah Wood in it, but he was young so it was before he got creepy. We just finished watching Edward Scissorhands. It is such a sad movie! I don’t think it is a bad movie, just incredibly sad. I’ll let you know how Top Hat turns out. Hope your week-end has been going smoothly and that you’re smiling
