Perspective

I am watching television as I tidy up and another one of
those commercials comes on with the drippy music and images of sick, sad and
wounded animals. I cannot say I am unmoved. Animal abuse is a disgusting act;
but every time I hear the voice-over talking about how helpless these animals
are I think of all the unborn babies who are murdered each year. Some people do
not see it that way but after seeing my baby via ultrasound at eight weeks, I
am even more sure of my stance on abortion.

But it’s controversial to stand up for an unborn baby’s
rights. We can openly push these heartstring pulling ads urging for your
support against animal abuse but it is an attack on “women’s rights” to bring
the truth of abortion to light in a public way.

I am sorry but a world that values the lives of animals and
trees over the tiny life of a forming baby is in desperate need of God. This
makes me want to live bolder and be a bigger testimony, to make a greater
impact for Christ. I fear for the world my baby girl has to grow up in but I
pray she will be a voice for her generation.

Those animal abuse ads are supposed to stir your emotions.
Well, they stirred mine for sure…perhaps not in the way they intended but
certainly in a way that is more meaningful.

 “United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we’re sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children”

Were Sleeping-Casting Crowns)
