So, it seems no one really gives a rip what I have to say about anything. My blog posts have dwindled exceedingly over the past year and I do not see anyone clamoring for me to come back. I am not surprised by this because there were signs beforehand that what I had to say was obsolete and unpopular. I used to receive cheerful, encouraging comments…or at least the periodic comment that had nothing in particular to do with the topic of the post but was affirming anyhow. But when you cannot even get your family and friends to read your blog, you lose hope that anyone else is going to take the time to sit before the computer and allow his/her eyes to gloss over as they attempt to remain focused on the tiny text.
I keep coming back to write here and there, but it is a far cry from the nearly daily posts of yesteryear; rather, it has been months. I guess I am not doing this for anyone else anymore. If you would like to read, you are more than welcome. If keeping up to speed with my life interests you or you are curious about what is going on in this head of mine, pull up a chair and be my guest…
Ray and I sheepishly exchanged glances in church a couple weeks ago, when the Pastor was asking the congregation if they read his/her Bible each day (or at least it was along those lines). He then encouraged us to pick up a Bible reading schedule in the foyer or to print one from the web site. We hunted for the schedule in amongst all the pamphlets and tracts, only to come up empty. So, I reminded Ray of the one we could get online. As of last night, we are in the book of Psalm and Romans. I still drag my heels a bit when it comes to actually sitting down with my husband each night to read, but it is actually pretty interesting once we get into it. My attention span could use some work but this is a good discipline.
We attempted tennis on the week-end with my sister-in-law and her fiancé. To the observer, my flailing must have been amusing but I was honestly trying my best. I know I sometimes did not give it my all in gym class, because at least if I failed, I knew I could do better if I wanted to and it somehow made me feel less stupid. Saturday, as Ray and I lost game after game, I felt like an idiot but I did enjoy myself. Perhaps practice will help.
It is almost 8 ‘o’ clock though, so I had better wrap it up. Ray and I must read the Bible.
‘Til tomorrow.
