I can’t believe how quickly Christmas is approaching. It feels like just yesterday was Thanksgiving. I am getting used to celebrating two Thanksgivings. There is a nice gap between the Canadian and American dates. Mmm, turkey! Ray and I set up our tree on Thanksgiving, because we returned our first tree that day. A 7.5′ tree would’ve fit barely height wise. However, it was the fact that it had a 5′ width that we returned it. His sisters had to pick some extra Thanksgiving supplies up, so we headed to Wal-Mart. That was crazy! One of the Wal-Mart employees had to talk a man out of eating a food item from the food return bin. He was actually going to buy it, but it had already been marked to send back for a refund
Wow… So, our quick in and out turned into a Christmas shopping spree. We got a tree for 1/4 of what we had originally paid, so Ray decided to pick out lights and decorations. Well, he let me pick out the decorations.
I had fun with that. Our tree looks cute but it is a little scrawny. We call it "Our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree." My Grandma made a beautiful tree skirt, and I put a lot of my childhood ornaments on it, so it has a lot of personal touches.
Since as far back as I can remember my brother and I have done the chocolate advent calendar. At 19 I am still doing the chocolate advent calendar. I got to start it yesterday. Ray gets to be the one I eagerly show "today’s" chocolate to(It was a rocking horse today, for those who are interested
). He doesn’t mind. He wanted to do it with me, because he knows it is a tradition. I am such a kid though!
TGIF!!! I look forward to Friday all week, because I know I have the whole week-end with Ray. Hope he doesn’t work late today!
